What’s the biggest challenge as well as the biggest fulfillment of being a woman in sport?
To represent Aotearoa is such an honour, and the older I get the more I understand how much it means to wear the silver fern. Of course, there are challenges, but I see them as part of what is a very fulfilling and incredible journey.
What does self-care mean to you? And how does skincare fit into your self-care routine?
I think self-care is very important. Taking time to nourish my skin is one of the ways I look after myself, and that in turn helps me to feel good. Because my schedule is very busy with training and travel, my daily skincare regime is quite straightforward, but this is why the products I use need to be effective—and Evolu products are.

Given how much time I spend outside, skin health is something I’ve always tried to prioritise. I was drawn to Evolu for many reasons. It’s one of my go-to products. I like how it isn’t oily and the way it absorbs quickly into the skin.
What are some ways you reduce stress and promote relaxation before bedtime to improve sleep and overall well-being?
My pre-bedtime routine is very important as it would be impossible to stay on top of my game without getting enough sleep. Before bed, I spend time stretching. I avoid screens from about 8.30pm and I make time to read before I turn out the lights.
What is good sleep for you? Is the recommended 8 hours a must? Or is that a myth?
I think everyone is different – some people can operate on less sleep than others and vice versa. It’s important to figure out what works for you.
